Provincial Minister Muhammad Shafiq inaugurates Surmo Khar Road
Inauguration was held on November 2019
Due to abandoned of government road from Khar to Siachen Road people of Khar were facing great difficulties for movement through and from Khar to other parts of areas. Such as transportation, ambulance, etc. cannot reached Khar in past years. Keeping the guanine problems, FTK had tried to expand link road from Gond to Khar with a Jeepable road. FTK with notables of the community specially Mr. Ali Moosa Khan met with the Mr. Muhammad Shifq, Minister of Minerals, Industries, Labour, Commerce & Food, Government of Gilgit Baltistan and requested him to allocate funds for construction, expansion of Link Road Khar. The Honourable Minister graciously accepted the demand of the FTK and allocated approx. 10 Lacs Fund for construction of Link Road Project Phase-1 from Siachen Road to Khar Surmo.
Link Road Khar was inaugurated on 30th October 2019. A special inauguration ceremony was arranged by FTK. Mr. Muhammad Shafiq, Minister of Minerals gracious the opening ceremony as Chief Guest. Mr. Kamal Khan, Deputy Commissioner Ghanche was the honorary Chief Guest. Assistant Commissioner Khaplu Mr. Abu Bakar, Assistant Commissioner Mashabrum Mr. Qurban, Director LG&RM Baltistan Region Mr. Ghulam Rasool, Xen LG&RD Baltistan Region, Deputy Director LG&RD Ghanche Mr. Hussain Ali, SDO Mr. Zahid Hussain, Sub-Engineer Mr. Muhammad Ali, SP Ghanche Mr. Jan Muhammad, SHO Khaplu Mr. Fida Ali, XEN PWD Mr. Hadi, XEN Water and Power Mr. Sadir Shah, Ex-SHO Khaplu Haji Ali Hussain, PRO to Minister Mr. Muhammad Anwar, Mr. Abdul Ghafoor, MTO Mr. Muhammad Ismail and a large number of guest and public attended the inaugurate ceremony.
